Gabe is a domestic short hair (black coat with a small white patch on his chest.)
Gabe loves attention! He came from a situation where he was living with 8 brothers and we think he would love the company of another cat in his forever home. He is a small boy (only 7.5 pounds!) and very docile, shy at first but very loving when he feels safe. He will talk to you about his day, bring toys to your feet and want to know what you are doing throughout the day.
Gabe loves to play. His favorite toys are fishing pole toys. He also knows how to fetch! He loves belly rubs and praises, loves to be with his people and enjoys cuddling in bed. His favorite place to sleep is around your feet, or even under your sheets when the days get cold.
You may notice in the pictures that one of his eyes is a bit cloudy-looking. This is likely due to an untreated infection when he was a kitten, prior to being rescued by FFGW. It does not affect his eye sight and it does not indicate any potential future health issues. FFGW had the scar tissue surgically removed and Gabe’s veterinary opthamologist says he is ready for adoption!
We absolutely adore Gabe and want to see him off to his furever home very soon.
As you can see by in the links below, FIV is not a death sentence or any reason to shy away from adopting an FIV+ kitty. We hope you will give Gabe a chance (and hopefully a feline brother or sister too!)
