Rory and his brother Soren are typically inseparable and full of fun, so when their foster mom noticed that Rory was acting tired and withdrawn, she brought him to the vet for a checkup. None of us imagined that Rory would be undergoing emergency surgery less than 24 hours later.
Rory’s chest cavity was filling with fluid and pus from an infection in his lung that had abscessed. This was making it more more difficult for him to breathe, and his only option was extremely risky and costly surgery, but FFGW made a promise to Rory when we took him in to care for him and find him a loving forever home, and we were not going to break that promise.
After surgery, Rory spent several days and nights in intensive care with a chest tube and IV lines. Ultimately, the chest tube was removed, and Rory is soon to be discharged and returned to his foster mom and his brother Soren.
The cost of the surgery and hospitalization is staggering. In addition to the promise we made to Rory when he came in, we also promised he and Soren that they would never be separated and we are very excited at the prospect of reuniting these two bonded kittens.
Can you help us keep that promise and contribute to Rory’s medical fund? If you can donate any amount, all of us at the Feline Foundation would be so very grateful for your help…especially Rory and Soren. 💜
