Lisa Cason, President

Lisa Cason is one of the founding members of Feline Foundation and has been active in cat rescue for well over 20 years. A lawyer and college level educator in the criminal justice field, Lisa tracks her love for cats back to her earliest memories. In fact, one of her favorite pictures is her as a toddler sitting in the grass with her arms thrown around a cat with a look of open mouthed excitement on her face!  Lisa wears many different hats for Feline Foundation, but her main focus is working with the cats by manning the rescue line, facilitating intake of cats in need, liaising with veterinarians to ensure each cat receives the care they need, and providing support to volunteer fosters.   Lisa’s family always includes several foster cats, many of whom have special needs, and resides in Fairfax County.

Brittany Scothorn, Vice President

Brittany serves as Vice president and Cat Adoption Center Coordinator for the Feline Foundation. She’s been active in cat rescue since the mid-1990s. She is involved in the day to day managing of the group, including reviewing and approving foster and adoption applications, doing intake via the rescue phone line, arranging transport from rescue to vets and foster homes, liaising with participating veterinarians, assisting at adoption events, and pretty much anything else that comes her way. Her love of cats since spending her childhood years on her grandparent’s farm in Ohio, has been a lifetime commitment. Brittany and her husband Steve live in Northern VA with their four wonderful cats.

Harry Shubin, Secretary

Harry is Managing Partner of Millen, White, a boutique intellectual property law firm in Arlington, Virginia. He has had cats his entire life, and has been active in cat rescue for over a dozen years, as an Adoption Counselor, Coordinator of Volunteers, and Rescue Coordinator for a PetSmart in-store adoption center. He currently writes and publishes a monthly e-newsletter for the Feline Foundation, and serves as a coordinator of volunteers. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife Julie and “3 cats and 3 understudies.”

Carla Estey

Carla is an IT Consultant with Coastal Cloud supporting both non-profit and higher education clients with Salesforce implementations. She is involved in all aspects of IT support for the organization, from establishing a CRM and animal management system to managing periodic updates for the website. Carla and her husband have been involved with various animal rescue groups for many years, the last few years with FFGW.

Kristen Kaye

Kristen works in education and public policy. She has been “rescuing” cats and kittens since she was a little girl, so volunteering in feline rescue came naturally! She’s a mom to two kids and five fur babies. Kristen first got involved in animal rescue 12 years ago by responding to a Facebook ad asking for volunteers who had an extra 15 minutes a week. Although rescue takes a bit more than 15 minutes a week, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing cats and kittens who were once in the greatest need and most dire circumstances become pampered pets in our wonderful adoptive homes.

Pam Heishman

Pam works as a business analyst and is passionate about education as well as animal rescue. She has been fostering and volunteering to help homeless cats find forever homes for over 15 years and estimates she’s fostered over 200 cats in her house. She started out volunteering with her young sons at adoption events and then got much more involved. Thankfully her husband doesn’t always realize that there are fosters in the home!  Pam helps with the website and reviews adoption applications and foster applications.
